Alberta

I saw this on the internet today and thought it was kind of clever. I don't really like Jeff Foxworthy, but this is what he had to say, and a lot of it is spot on.

You know you live in Alberta...

If your local Dairy Queen is closed from September to May.

If you've worn shorts and a parka at the same time.

If someone in a Home Depot offers you assistance and they don't work there.

If you measure distance in hours.

If you carry jumpers in your car and your wife knows how to use them.

If you've had a lengthy conversation with someone who dialed a wrong number.

If "vacation" means going anywhere south of Edmonton for the weekend.

If you find 10 degrees Fahrenheit "a little chilly".

If you have switched from 'heat' to 'air conditioning' and back again in the same day.

If you know several people who have hit a deer more than once.

If you install security lights on your house and garage, but leave both unlocked.

If you design your kid's halloween costumes to fit over a snowsuit.

If you have more miles on your snowblower than your car.

If you know all 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter, and road construction.

If driving is better in the winter because potholes are filled with snow.

If you can drive 75 mph through 2 feet of snow during a blizzard without flinching.

  1. That's a good laugh on a dreary day! It makes me miss Alberta winter. We went from heavy snow to pouring rain today. The kids get their hopes up for a white winter, then it melts away in 24 hours. Oh well!
