Swimming

We took Tyler swimming for the first time yesterday. They have a really great pool for little kids up in St. Albert, so we went with Russell, Andrea, and Beck (who is 1 year old, but smaller than Ty). He seemed to really enjoy it. We took him down waterslides, in the Lazy River, and hung out in the "warm" pool, which is basically a warmer than normal wading pool. It was a lot of fun, so I guess we'll have to take him more often.

Who does that?

A couple of nights ago, Tyler actually sucked his finger to the point of bleeding! Who does that?! I had no idea that it had even happened until Trevor showed me the blood in his crib. He thought maybe he had had a bloody nose, but then saw his finger! What a weird thing to do while you're sleeping.

Taxes and Olympics

Well, I did our taxes today, and it looks good. We bought 2 new trucks last year, which really helped us out a lot. We had to pay our taxes by installment, but will be getting a good portion of it back! I'm pretty happy about the results this year.

We have been enjoying the Olympics this year. We're not normally avid watchers, but for some reason, we are really getting into it this year. We got HD Cable, which has helped our motivation to watch. It looks so crisp and clear! The Ice Dancing last night was especially well done. We've also been watching women's curling for some reason. It's not that exciting, but at the same time, we can't seem to stop.

Here's Tyler making friends with our fish. He tries to grab the bowl, but luckily can't reach.

Tyler loves to climb the stairs! Because of the curve, if he doesn't start on the side against the wall, there isn't enough stair for him to stand on to make it up.

This is what happens when Daddy is in charge of dinner time.

Well, I'm into day 2 of the 30 Day Shred, and man am I feeling it. I think it is going to actually work a bit for me. I don't know how much weight I'll actually lose, but it will definitely help me increase my endurance and get me into better shape.

I am joining a women's choir. Last night was my first practice. I think I am really going to enjoy it. I haven't ever really done anything like this before, but it seems like it will be fun. I know a lot of the women in it. I think everyone, or most of them are members, but we're not doing church songs. It is fun to sing some other types of music.

Movin' On Up

Well, we had to upgrade our car seat today. Tyler is close to 29" tall, and that is the limit of his current seat. He seemed much too long for it though! This new one is a 3-in-1 seat. I should maybe have just started with this, had I known he was going to be so tall! It is a tight fit in the car with it rear-facing, but it's not too bad. He went in a ride in it today, and he didn't complain once! Hopefully that keeps up.

Trevor went back to work today framing houses. He is working with the guy he used to do it with a couple of years ago, Simeon. He has 6 houses lined up that he asked Trev if he wanted to help out on. We figured it was a good opportunity to make some money, and also, Kealan will be helping, so we won't be paying him to do nothing! He's not home yet, but I'm assuming he's having a good time. They usually do when they are working together.

I don't seem to get much done in the day right now. Tyler is new to crawling, so he is eager to get into everything. Also, he is really good at standing up on things, but not so good at getting down, so I have to keep a pretty close watch on him.

I got a new workout DVD in the mail today. The plan is to do the 20 minute workout everyday while Tyler has his morning nap. I need to get a set of hand weights before I can start though. It is a Jillian Michaels video. She is one of the trainers on The Biggest Loser. My friend has this same video and loves it. It was only $10 so I thought I would give it a try. It is called the 30 Day Shred. We'll see how it works! Wish me luck.

2009 in a Nutshell

I got this idea from my friends blog...

1.What did you do in 2009 that you've never done before?

I had a beautiful baby boy.

2. Did you make New Year's Resolutions and will you make more for next year?

No, I didn't officially make any resolutions. Every year I think that I will work out more, or eat better, but it never seems to happen. I just don't have the willpower I guess!

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

Yes - Ginger Moyah and Alycia Meyer (from work)
This is Ginger's baby Corben and Tyler

4. Did anyone close to you die?

I can't think of anyone who passed away this year.

5. What places have you visited?

White Rock/Vancouver, BC

Welling, for my 10 year Reunion and also for Spencer's Wedding.

We went to the Farmer's Market Downtown for the first time.

6. What was your biggest achievement in 2009?

I survived my Pregnancy, heartburn, swelling and all.

7. Did you suffer any illnesses or injuries?

Nothing major (other than being pregnant!)

8. What was the best thing you bought?

I got Trevor this CD for his birthday, and we both love it!

9. Where did most of your money go?

To Trevor's Dream...

10. What songs will remind you of 2009?

Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus
Fifteen by Taylor Swift

11. What do you wish you had done more of?

Scrapbooking before Ty was born. I just can't seem to make myself do it now with my limited time to myself.

12. What do you wish you would've done less of?

Focusing on my pregnancy issues. Everyone was probably so sick of hearing about every little problem I was having. I guess that's what happens with your first one.

13. What was your favorite T.V. show?

We bought this whole series on DVD and loved it!

14. What was the best book you read in 2009?

15. What was your favorite film of the year?

As nerdy as this may seem, I really liked this movie. I thought it was really well done.

16. What did you do on your birthday and how old were you?

I turned 28, and spent the day helping Trevor at his booth at the Home and Garden Show, then we went to the Olive Garden for dinner.

17. Who was the best person you met?

This little guy. Nobody could beat him!

When in Rome

I went and saw When in Rome the other day. I took a much needed break from being home all day, and treated myself to a new outfit and a movie. I really enjoyed the show. I thought it was really funny. I recommend it if you were thinking about seeing it.
